- Remembering 25th BN SoldiersPrivate, 429, Septimus MARSDEN, 25th Bn. Australian Infantry (AIF). Killed in action The Maze 05-11-16, aged 28. Born Chorley, Lancashire, England (02-07-1888); resident Laidley, Queensland. Served in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment (Territorials). Emigrated to Australia in 1912, aged 23. Enlisted Brisbane 04-02-15. Embarked from Brisbane with 25th Bn. aboard HMAT A60 ‘Aeneas’ on 29-06-15. Body found at Map Ref. 57c.SW.M.18.c.50.20 (in front of O.G.1 to left of The Maze). Served in Egypt, Gallipoli, and on the Western Front. Son of Septimus and Ellen Marsden, Heapey Road, Chorley, Lancashire, England. Buried in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval, Grave XXIV.E.02.Like
